LAttice Renewal
Most lattices will need to be repaired or rebuilt on a yearly basis. If a lattice is not aligned properly, has damaged blade guides, or bent parallel bars, it will not work properly. Thick and thin slicing is one of the biggest indicators of a lattice problem.
If you are having lattice problems, or just want to avoid them in the future, send your lattices to Bettendorf Stanford at least once per year.
The ins and outs of the lattice renewal program:
Extra Services: Rust Preventative
Many of the lattices that are still in service today were made from steel, which can rust. With more and more regulations coming into the industry, many companies are changing to wash down stainless slicers. Instead of replacing a perfectly good steel lattice with a brand new, costly stainless steel lattice, ask us about plating. We can plate your old steel lattice to prevent it from rusting at a fraction of the cost.
If you are having lattice problems, or just want to avoid them in the future, send your lattices to Bettendorf Stanford at least once per year.
The ins and outs of the lattice renewal program:
- When Bettendorf Stanford receives a lattice from a bakery, we immediately inspect the lattice for defects. If no defects are found, we will clean and align the lattice back to its original specifications, at no charge.
- If parts are required to fix the lattice, the bakery will be issued a quote for the parts that will be used. As a blade customer, you will not be charged for labor.
- If the bakery accepts the quote and issues a PO number, we will make the necessary repairs and send the lattice back to you. When you receive the lattice, it will be ready to use and will work just like it did when it was brand new.
- If the bakery wants to wait on the repair, we can either ship it back immediately, or we can hold on to it for free for up to six months. This is the bakery’s choice. (We do not begin work on the lattice until we get permission from the bakery). The only cost that the bakery will have is the freight both ways and any parts that may have been used.
- Lattices are repaired on a first come, first serve basis. Lead time will vary depending on the number of lattices that we have on the schedule. Please check with our sales department for current lead time.
- Have your lattices set to be repaired on a schedule to ensure that each active slicer will have its lattices renewed once every twelve months. Example: If you have four slicers, we will rebuild four lattices per year. To keep them in rotation, we recommend that one be sent in every 3 months. For your convenience, we can remind you when they are due to be sent in. (Just ask to be put on the list.)
