WARNING ! ! !
BAND BLADES, EVEN DULL ONES,
ARE VERY SHARP AND CAN CAUSE SEVERE CUTS.
EXTREME CAUTION SHOULD BE EXERCISED WHEN HANDLING BLADES.
Removing old blades:
- Turn the blades on and open the lattice until the slice width indicator is around the halfway mark or wider.
Raise the slicer head to approx. 5".
- Turn the main power to the slicer off and lock / tag out per bakery specifications.
- Open and remove the slicer covers & doors and blow the machine clean with compressed air. Make a note
which direction the blade scallop point is facing.
- Remove the discharge guiderails
- If the machine is equipped with a hone, remove the hone stones. Remove the scrapers and oilers from the machine.
Remove the loose leaf hold down from the slicer.
- Remove the upper backing roller from the machine. Pull the latch pin allowing the lower backing roller to swing
out of the way.
- Insert the machine crank in the tension device and loosen the tension on the blades.
- Cut the old blades and gently remove them from the machine. (Cutting blades under tension can cause them to
lash out and cause severe cuts.) Care should be taken not to force the blades, as misalignment of the lattice
can result from jerking the blades.
- Routine and preventative maintenance should be performed on the slicer now.
