W. T. (Dutch) Stanford established Bettendorf Stanford in 1965 when he
purchased the assets of the Bettendorf Company of Bettendorf, Iowa.
The Bettendorf Company was the original manufacturer of the micro
bread slicer and slicer blades. With the purchase, the company was
moved in 1966 from Bettendorf, Iowa to Salem, IL where it remains
today. Salem is 75 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri.
Bettendorf Stanford started remanufacturing the Model 60-75 slicers in
1966 along with all the parts for the machines including the lattice and
blade guides. In the late 1970's, the company started re-manufacturing
the Mark 50 bagger. This bagger along with the Model 75 slicer is the
preferred equipment used for slicing and bagging pan bread.
Bettendorf Stanford is the oldest manufacturer of Microloy Blades in
the world. Only the finest alloys, the most-tested welding equipment and
precision grinders are used to manufacture the Microloy blades. |
